Keynote Speaker: Dr. Elizabeth Lizz, PMP, Associate Vice President at Merck
Presentation Title: Chemical Engineering: Applications to the Business of Science
Bio: Liz Liss is an Associate Vice President in MRL Global Project and Alliance Management where she leads the Oncology Project Management organization. Liz joined Merck in 2001 as a Chemical Engineer in Pharmaceutical R&D and was responsible for small molecule drug product process development supporting clinical and commercial formulations. In 2004, she transitioned to a functional area planning and support role with responsibilities for resource planning and metrics across the Pre-Clinical Development subdivision. In 2008, she joined the project management organization where she has taken on diverse roles of increasing responsibility including support for project teams, staff management, R&D governance committees and divisional initiatives. Liz received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University. She holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
